Five fig tree species are confirmed from Yemen (two indigenous, and three introduced) (Jongbloed, 2003; A. van Harten, pers. comm.; van Noort & Rasplus, in press). A possible two further species, one indigenous and one introduced may also be present  (van Noort & Rasplus, in press).
