Distribution

Madagascar and Mascarene Islands. A common species widely distributed in Madagascar especially in the east and the north. 

Biology

Pollinator: Elisabethiella reflexa Wiebes.

Non-pollinators: Philocaenus Boučeki (Wiebes); Philotrypesis cnephaea Wiebes; Sycoscapter cornutus Wiebes; Sycoryctes remus (Wiebes); Camarothorax brevimucro Bouček; Camarothorax hemimucro Wiebes.

Habitat

Frequently in forests (various types), up to an altitude of 1400m.
