Distribution

Madagascar. Largely  restricted to the south west of the country, however, one sample has been found near Toamasina.

Biology

Pollinator: unknown.

Habitat

Dry forests and xerophytic bush at low altitude.

Comments

This recently described species has been confused previously with Ficus marmorata and is illustrated under this name in Flora Madagascar (1952).
