Platyscapa desertorum Compton 1990 (in Wiebes & Compton 1990). Holotype in S. Compton Collection, England. Type locality: South Africa

Distribution	Namibia and South Africa, but probably also present in the remaining Distributional area (lighter colour) of the host fig (Angola)
Biology	Host fig: Ficus cordata cordata Thunberg
